Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On August 6th, 2024, Standing at the L. Michael Treadwell Oswego County Industrial Park (OCIP), U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer launched his push to secure up to $2.5 million in federal funding through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to fast-track the development of the site, which is less than 10 miles from the future home of Micron, to build the new infrastructure needed to land new companies to support the growth of the semiconductor industry and the good-paying jobs that come along with that investment. Schumer said this long-planned expansion, which would more than double the size of the park, using land they have already acquired, is critical as Oswego County is nearly out of usable space, just as investment opportunities increase for the region.Â
