On January 12, 2023, Senator Schumer cut the ribbon on Plug Power’s new $125 million green hydrogen fuel cell factory at the Vista Technology Park in Slingerlands. The new facility will create 1,600 new, good-paying jobs, on top of the over 1,400 Plug employees already in New York. Schumer said that Plug’s tremendous growth is the culmination of years of work to deliver the incentives, like the Investment Tax Credit, and support needed for their expansion. Furthermore, Schumer explained that this major milestone is only the beginning as the company establishes itself as a powerhouse in green energy, with the heart of its operations in the Capital Region.
