Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
\n On August 10, 2011 Senator Schumer visited Buffalo to call on wire transfer services to work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to identify and block cash payment transfers to operators in China that peddle fake drivers' licenses that are indistinguishable from the real thing. The Chinese-made fake IDs include features like holograms, watermarks, and magnetic strips, making them almost identical to driver's licenses issued by state Department of Motor Vehicles. The increased access to high-quality fake IDs could exacerbate Erie County's severe underage drinking problem, as well as add to the rate of Erie County's incidents of drunk driving accidents, which were already Upstate New York's highest in 2009. Schumer was joined my campus safety personnel from Canisius College and Erie Community College.
