Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On August 6, 2012, Schumer visited SolarKind in Kingston to call on the PSC to raise metering limits which are preventing Central Hudson Gas and Electric Customers from purchasing and implementing solar energy. Currently, under the PSC regulation cap, no more customers are allowed to implement solar energy, causing cancellations of orders and prohibiting solar companies from expanding their clientele. Schumer's proposal would allow for additional net metering which would stimulate the solar energy business, allowing for more clean energy and less of a carbon footprint. Schumer was joined by Solar Kind Chairman, Ron Kamen along with County Executive Mike Hein.
