Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On July 10, 2021 amid the worst brown tide in years, and a real-time threat to everything from oysters, clams—even people, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced a $55 billion dollar push via the upcoming, bipartisan infrastructure bill he is now negotiating in the Senate to help further expand and construct badly-needed sewer systems across Suffolk County. Schumer also announced that $42 million from the American Rescue Plan (ARP), which he negotiated into law, is now officially on the way to Suffolk to help address the problem, BUT that more will be needed to finish a slew of critical efforts and contain the tide.
