On March 18, 2008, Sen. Schumer stood with Congressman Michael McNulty at the Watervliet Arsenal and together called on the U.S. military to approve a $64 million plan to transform the arsenal into a high-tech campus that could bring 1,500 new jobs to the Capital Region. The Senator and the Congressman returned to the facility on May 16th with U.S. Army Secretary Pete Geren and showed him the plan to transform the arsenal.
