SCHUMER ANNOUNCES NEARLY $50 MILLION NAVY CONTRACT AWARD TO ELMA’S MOOG INC. – CONTRACT WILL BE A BIG SHOT IN THE ARM FOR WESTERN NEW YORK’S ECONOMY, AND ENHANCE TROOP SAFETY
Work Is To Be Completed In WNY Over The Next Five Years
Schumer: This Is A Win-Win For Our Troops, Moog’s 2,600 Employees, And the Western New York Economy
U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer today announced that Moog Inc. in Elma New York was awarded a $49,978,647 Navy contract to repair items in support of the F-18 aircraft. A part of the manufacturing work on this contract will be based in Elma through 2022.
“This contract is a huge boost to Western New York’s economy and will improve our troops’ safety,” said Schumer. “The Western New York workforce is second to none, and the Navy made the right choice by selecting Moog Inc. for this important work. I applaud the Navy for choosing Moog, and supporting the 2,600 people who work there. I will to do everything I can to bring more defense work and jobs to Upstate New York.”
Moog Inc. was founded over 50 years ago by William C. Moog. Moog is an American-based designer and manufacturer of motion control products that are used to control both military and commercial aircraft, satellites, space vehicles, missiles, and wind energy. Moog’s headquarters is located in East Aurora, New York and it has an international reach by operating in 26 countries.
