Following his personal recommendation to President Biden, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer today announced the Senate confirmation of the Capital Region’s Anne Nardacci to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
After her nomination, Schumer personally introduced Judge Nardacci to the Senate Judiciary Committee. This is the third woman Senator Schumer has recommended for nomination to serve on the NDNY bench, following Mae D'Agostino and Brenda Sannes, which has transformed the court from being all men – to now a historic majority of women among active judges. Schumer said he is immensely proud to have recommended this highly accomplished Capital Region attorney and that Judge Nardacci will bring tremendous legal acumen to the federal bench in Albany and cited her record protecting consumers and fighting corporate wrongdoing, as well as her commitment to the rule of law.
“The Capital Region’s own, Anne Nardacci, will now officially be bringing her tremendous expertise, integrity, and intelligence to the bench as a district court judge for the Northern District of New York. Judge Nardacci has spent nearly twenty years fighting for transparency and the rights of consumers, and holding wrongdoers accountable -- all invaluable experience that demonstrates her ability to apply equal justice under the law to the Capital Region. With her confirmation, the Northern District bench has now transformed to a historic majority of women serving as active judges, and I am proud to have recommended three highly qualified legal professionals to make it happen,” said Senator Schumer. “The legal field is better because of highly-qualified professionals like the Capital Region’s own Anne Nardacci. She will bring dignity, excellence and honor to her post as a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.”
