U.S. Senator Charles E. The funding will be used to make improvements to the campus's physical infrastructure, including traffic reduction, pedestrian access and public safety features. Schumer worked closely with members of the Appropriations Committee to include funding for the project in this year's spending bill.
"The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is a top notch facility that contributes to Western New York's economy and health," Schumer said. "These funds will help make sure the campus keeps up with demand and continues to act as an economic boost for the region and a world class healthcare facility for residents."
The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is a consortium of the region's premier health care, life sciences research, and medical education institutions, all located on 120 acres in downtown Buffalo. The BNMC is dedicated to the cultivation of a worldclass medical campus for clinical care, research, education, and entrepreneurship.
Now that the bill has been approved by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee, it will be sent to the full Senate Appropriations Committee. Following approval by the Full Committee and the Senate, the bill will move towards Conference with the House and then to the President for signature.
