Schumer, Clinton Announce $76,000 For Fulton County Airport

Federal Money Will Be Used for Aircraft Storage Construction and NAVAIDS Installation

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $76,000 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funds to the Fulton County Airport in Johnstown, NY.   Federal funds will be used to construct an aircraft storage and maintenance hangar and install miscellaneous NAVAIDS.

"This is great news for Fulton County," said Schumer. "The Fulton County Airport is an important general aviation facility in this region.   It is critical that we continue to provide the funds necessary to keep the airport safe and efficient.   With so many local aviators, tourists and businesspeople using the airport as a base of operation, it remains a key component of economic growth in the region."

"This is welcome news for Fulton County," said Senator Clinton.  "This funding will provide the Fulton County Airport with new facilities and equipment that will allow continued safe and efficient operation.  Smaller airports, like the Fulton County Airport, are crucial for travel and commerce all over New York State, and I will continue to do all that I can to help our airports perform their needed service."

Federal funds will be used to construct an aircraft storage and maintenance hangar and install miscellaneous NAVAIDS. This project will better position the airport to serve the surrounding business community more effectively, efficiently and safely.
